Why Do I need to Get Trained?

We take Crisis Response very seriously and believe that volunteers need to know what to say, what to do and more importantly,—know how to minister in times of disaster. 

WE NEED YOU! However, due to liabilities, continuity of mission and the safety of volunteers and victims—Crisis Response International only deploys volunteers who have completed our responder training.

  • Take the course

    The course is a 16-hour intensive training, with 30 lessons, 4 quizzes, and a certification exam.

  • Get certified

    70% or better is required to pass the exam and receive certification. You'll have 3 attempts to pass.

  • Be deployed

    You'll immediately be eligible to deploy as a certified crisis responder with CRI.

So What Exactly is CRI Academy?

CRI Academy is the online extension of Crisis Response International’s disaster relief and crisis response training and certification program. Our vision is to train and mobilize people just like you. We want you to be ready to respond to crisis situations around the world by bringing God's love and mercy where it's most needed. 


What Do I get with Course 1?

As soon as you purchase, you will get immediate access to CRI Academy Course 1. This gives you the opportunity to train in the comfort of your home, and the flexibility to work at your own pace.

Course 1 is designed to impart the basic knowledge, values and skills an individual needs to become a CRI Responder. Course 1 includes topics such as disaster chaplaincy, crisis ministry skills, disaster first-aid, personal preparedness, deployment protocol and much more. Best of all, you will learn how to meet the urgent practical needs in crisis and disaster through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Completing Course 1 in CRI academy also qualifies you to become a CRI Responder, and as such, you are eligible to deploy with us to disasters and crisis situations domestic and abroad.

How does CRI Academy Work?

Participation in this course requires watching videos, taking notes and completing questions to advance forward. You will need to complete all videos and answer all questions throughout each chapter. 

The course takes about 16 hours to complete; however, you can work through the course at your own pace! At the end of the course, you will be asked to fill out a brief form in order to create your own personal responder profile in our Responder Level System.

This will keep track of your achievements with CRI so that you are adequately credentialed and receive all CRI Responder benefits, deployment notifications, and updated badges when you advance in your Responder level. 


Can I buy the Course 1 and show it to a group?

No. We have designed our online courses for individual use only and only the person registered for Course 1 will receive credit and get certified with us. Besides, it would be such a waste for anyone to go through this course and not receive all the benefits of becoming an official CRI Responder.
